We are better together.

Journey Lutheran exists because a group of Christ followers in North Oakland County were confident that in all things we are better together.

Journey Lutheran launched January 1, 2021 when Holy Cross and Living Word joined together as one new, unified ministry to share the the love of Jesus. We know that there are more than a million people living in Oakland County, and more than half do not have an active relationship with Jesus. We continue the tremendous legacy of educational excellence in our award-winning early childhood center. Our preschool has provided Christ-centered kindergarten preparation for kids and families living in North Oakland County for more than 50 years!

At Journey, we have a goal of creating 25 discipleship hubs in our first five years, which will act as a basecamp for Christ followers and will include worship sites, home groups, personal discipling relationships, and community gatherings. We want to empower and encourage all people connected with Journey to share the joy of Jesus with their family and friends, classmates and coworkers, and everyone they meet. We seek to live out our faith in our church and in our communities. Read more about ways to serve alongside of us.

To make our goal of creating 25 discipleship hubs a reality, we are partnering with like-minded ministries and non-profits across Oxford and Oakland County, in Michigan and around the world. Right now, we are working a number of counseling services in Caring for Oxford, with Casa Colibri in Guatemala, Elli’s House in Detroit, Family of God in Detroit, Love INC in North Oakland County, Michigan District of the LCMS, Oxford Pregnancy Center, and St. Paul in Pontiac. We are also partnered with Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Ortonville, where we have called and deployed Pastor Mark to serve our two churches as we work together. Read more about each of those ministries on our outreach page.
