New to Journey?

We’re excited you’re here! We have a few answers below to some frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions, send us an email or give us a call at (248)628-2011 and we’ll get them answered as soon as we can.

Parking

  • We’re located at 136 S. Washington St., which is just south of the main downtown in Oxford. Some folks always reference that we’re across from the Sunoco. You can enter our parking lot from Washington St. on the north side of the building, or on the east side of the building from Pearl St.

  • The main entrance has a welcome sticker across it on the north side of the building. There’s also a doorbell on it that you can use if the building is locked.

  • We have parking spaces, including spaces designated for handicap access, on the north side and east side of building.

In-Person Worship

  • Special Worship Service Times:

    • Sunday, May 19, 10:30am at the Laidler Pavilion in Seymour Lake Park

    • Sunday, May 25, 10am

    • Sunday, June 2, New Summer Schedule: 8am and 10am

  • We worship with all ages together and have small chairs and small tables in the sanctuary with busy bags for young children.

  • There’s also a cry room with a restroom attached by the sanctuary entrance if you need to take a break or change a diaper.

  • Bring your Bible, use one of ours, or follow along on the screens. If you don’t have a Bible of your own, you can take home one of ours.

  • Every Sunday morning service includes a time to sing praise, to confess our sins and receive forgiveness, a sharing of our faith, a message from our pastors, a time of prayer, and communion for those who share our beliefs.

Online Worship

  • We welcome those who aren’t able to join us in person to join us for our livestream on Sunday in our late service.

  • You can also watch any of our past worship services at this link.

  • Wherever you join us from, we want you to be a part of the Journey family. You can share your prayer requests in the chat, and respond to the message or prayers.

  • If you need to get connected for spiritual care, email us or call the church office at (248)628-2011.

Infants and Toddlers

  • We have always encouraged parents to feel free to keep their young ones in worship with the entire family.

  • The presence of children is a gift to God’s family, and a reminder that our church is growing! We want everyone to feel at home here.

  • God put the wiggle in children! Don’t feel you have to suppress those wiggles in God’s house.

  • If you need to nurse a baby, or you and your child(ren) need a quiet place to experience worship, we have a cry room at the back of the sanctuary, furnished with rocking chairs, a changing table, and wheelchair accessible restroom. There’s a window with a clear view of to the sanctuary, and the current and next slide is broadcast into the room.

  • You’ll never be judged for having a squeaky or squirmy child, but if you do need to step out of worship, our community room is a great place to go.

Come as You are

  • There’s no need to worry about how to dress when you come to worship at Journey. You will see people in dress clothes, jeans, shorts and t-shirts.

  • Before each service, we have a time of announcements which are relaxed and filled with humor.

  • We get to know a little bit more about each other with something we call “Name Tag Mania”. We have fun question on Sunday mornings and invite your answer on your name tag. We limit the sharing time to a minute during announcements because we love our introverts, and we know those extroverts could take over the whole service.

  • Come as you are and join us in a time of worship!
