Caring for Oxford

Caring for Oxford

Called to be compassionate and caring to those who surround us, Journey Lutheran has established a "Caring for Oxford" fund that will seek to provide financial resources for mental health care expenses to those who may be emotionally, mentally, spiritually or physically struggling following the tragic Oxford High School shooting on November 30, 2021.

We are seeking to partner with other churches, ministries, businesses, and groups to make this a community effort to care for people in Oxford.

To facilitate this mental health care, we are working with multiple counseling services across the state to make available tele-care sessions, local therapy groups, and when possible, one on one counseling.

We have developed this fund in order that mental health care would be available for those in need as they experience significant anniversary dates in the future.

If you have questions about Caring for Oxford, please email: caringforoxford@journeylutheran.church.

Request for Reimbursement

  • Journey Lutheran is now taking requests for reimbursement of mental health care costs for families and individuals dealing with the effects of the shooting at Oxford High School.

  • Those eligible for care would include students, teachers, staff, faculty and their families along with community members who do not have insurance or have inadequate insurance to cover this care, or who have already paid for mental health care out of pocket or before meeting their deductible.

  • A statement from the service provider that the mental health services are related to effects of events associated with the shootings at Oxford High School in November 2021.

  • Amount  and date of costs for mental health services incurred by you (essentially an invoice from the provider) and not covered by insurance.

The above information can be filled out using the form below or you may email the requested documentation to caringforoxford@journeylutheran.church.

All requests will remain confidential
